11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #11
Happy Valentines Day! It's officially the end of my little series. I had fun ... did you? I really do hope so and I (of course) saved the best for last. A classic tale of epic love that everyone should see once in their lifetime... no really it's THAT good. I wish you all the happiest of Valentines Days and hope you stick around for more of my crazy antics and random banter.
So, without further ado I give you...
Plot: Watch as mystery man Westley and the beautiful Buttercup fight for their love in an epic battle against evil trickery and a 6 fingered man... bum bum bummmm.
Why you'll love it: This film is funny, it's romantic, it's got adventure and mystery AND it's easily quotable afterwards. ("Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed m father. prepare to die.") The Princess Bride truly is a classic... if you haven't seen it yet and you like things that are good, please do add it to your list.

Prepare for: The urge to laugh endlessly, reminisce about Fred Savage in The Wonder Years and put a pirate mask on your boyfriend to make him suave and mysterious... he probably won't fight you.
THE END!

Sunday Obsessions: Heartful Edition
The 11th was Tif's birthday but today is the official celebration day because we're going to Disneyland! (I know that's what we usually do, but today it's extra special) So, before that wonderful-ness begins here's some "Valentines Day Eve" heartful obsessions.
First a correction! When I made Tif her Nerd Crush cluster the day before yesterday I was silly enough to forget this man here. Oh, John Mayer...maybe if you were'nt in hiding right now I'd have remebered you on time! Anywho, here's two Johnny magazine shots to make up for it.
This heart shaped mixing stick and cutting board are the perfect gift for you recipe obsessed Valentine.
My heart currently is obsessed with magazines. I'm hunting for the perfect hardcopy 2011 inspiration. Elle and Glamour are what I've narrowed it down to, but we'll see which truely wins my heart soon.

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #10
Plot: A Kevin Smith and comic book loving, college dorm room living, funny & adorable boyfriend classic. Watch as Jason Lee, Jeremy London and many many MANY more notable names as they discuss the epic disputes of romance and battle the wits of a mall. All while trying to (or not trying to) win back their now ex- girlfriends.
Why you'll love it: This film is funny, grungy, and filled with cute well spoken boys. Why HE'LL like it: It's a Kevin Smith movie, there's comic book references in it and Stan Lee does a guest appearance... just tell him that. ;)

Prepare for: The urge to google Shannen Doherty... I mean where did she go?

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #9
Plot: Watch as (the late) Heath Ledger and (the lovely) Abbie Cornish struggle with their love habits, life hates, and strong attempts to quit and keep heroin. Yup heroin... this one doesn't end happy.
Why you'll love it: This film is like emotional heroin. (It also happens to have heroin as a main character too!... fun times.) No really though, the ups and downs this couple experiences will keep you addicted to the bitter end.

Prepare for: The urge to write on the walls while appreciating your non-illegal substance addicted life. Write happy things... it'll ease the pain.

A FredFlare Valentines Day

Also known as the most adorable Valentine's Day ever! Here's some of my favorites from fredflare.com's cutsy collection of Valentines love. Favorites include their squishy heart plushie and flowers in a can! Nifty right? It's also a great place to nudge the boy when he's gift worried next week. Just tell him to write you a sweet note and stick it in the "message in a bottle" necklace. Easy. Done. Happy Valentines!

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #8
Plot: Watch Keanu Reeves as he saves us all from an exploding bus and a crazy old man! Action flicks are pretty simple like that....
Why you'll love it: This film is pre The Matrix, but post Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure so you're gunna see a lot of grunge love happening here. Along with a bunch of things that go boom, attempt to go boom or have the escalating possibility of going ...boom!

Prepare for: The urge to buy a floral grungy dress and run ... a lot... from exploding buildings. Which was probably what you would have done anyway.

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #7
Plot: Watch as Harold, a probably suicidal/mostly overly creative young man, meets Maude, an overly adventurous free spirit, as they sneak into funerals, rescue small trees from city streets and yes steal cars all while strange love sparks fly between them.
Why you'll love it: This film is an eye opening tale of a love where age is of no concern... well not to the main characters anyway. Maude has a way of opening up Harold's world that will effect you as well and none of us can help but be intrigued by Harold's genius attempts to fake his own death.

Prepare for: The urge to buy a hearse... or a motor bike... or both.

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #6
Plot: The same as the 2007 remake except better! Watch as Tracy Turnblad, a pleasantly plump teenager played by Ricki Lake, engages in 60's style pop dancing, becomes a small town TV star, meets a hottie named Link and becomes a civil rights activist all in one movie! Oh and it's NOT a musical.
Why you'll love it: This film is a John Waters classic. (A writer/director I hold in high esteem) It's his dance movie as he calls it and it sure does have dancing in it. You'll learn 60's classics like the Madison without even trying and this movie will bring back the wonders and magic of the mash potato into your eyes for sure. Oh and did I mention that it's better then the remake...because it is.

Prepare for: The urge to tease your hair and break out the vintage dresses for a night out with a real swinger. Don't fight it, the bigger the better.

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #5
Plot: It's the 19th century and chic ruffle fanatic Fanny Brawne meets then failing poet John Keats. They fall in love... and here is where you need a box of tissues.
Why you'll love it: This film is the epic tale of love in a time when words were more important than money, at least to me. Words lasted longer, meant more and brought differences together. Keats poems are so epic and romanticized that your heart will literally gape with longing for something that emotional and someone with that much to love for.

Prepare for: Tears. I mentioned that right... and the urge to buy an oversized church hat because Fanny is a diva.

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #4
Plot: You're in the land of Disney and something horrible has happened to the earth. (They like to start it out sad) Watch adorable and oddly human-like robot Wall-E as he collects knick knacks left behind from us humans, falls in love with a chic and pearly white robot named Eve and ultimately saves humanity from impending obesity!
Why you'll love it: This film is filled with classic Disney awesome-ness. Not only do they make the story visually stunning and accurate to what our future probably holds, but there are lessons learned too! Kids need lessons.

Prepare for: The urge to watch Hello Dolly right after then immediately go to the gym. Also make sure you stick around for the end credits display of Earth being rebuilt as they roll through the evolution of art. It's like food for your soul.

11 Movies You'll Love on Valentines Days: #3
Plot: Zombies have attacked the earth. (Surprise Surpirse) and the few people left unaffected are struggling to servive in a world where people constantly want to eat them. Watch as loner Jesse Eisenberg meets new friends, cracks ironic jokes, gives key zombie survival tips and falls in hearts with a pretty girl all while trying to stay alive.
Why you'll love it: This film is a fun combination of scarcastic dialogue and epic zombie B-movie horror techniques. Yes the zombies are everywhere and yes they do bite, so if your main goal on V-Day is to go to a near by restaurant and glare at the gushy romantic couples...I'd suggest you watch this instead because glaring is mean. :( Trust me you'll get the same enjoyment from watching people get ripped limb from limb.

Prepare for: The urge to lock your doors, check the backseat and limberup when appropriate.
